A chemical peel also known as chemexfoliation or dermapeeling, is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin. This causes trauma or injury to your skin’s layers to remove the top layers resulting in skin-resurfacing. The skin layers eventually peel off revealing a more youthful skin. The skin that grows back is smoother, with fewer lines and wrinkles, has a more even color and is brighter in complexion
Chemical peels are usually to treat facial wrinkles, melasma or discolored skin and scars. And can be combined with other cosmetic procedures. Deep chemical peels offer more-dramatic results but may take longer to recover from.
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to create microscopic punctures in the skin. This stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, which produces more collagen and elastin to keep the skin firm and smooth. And this is called dermal remodeling.
Microneedling can help treat a variety of skin concerns, including:
Fine lines and wrinkles, Crow’s feet, Sun damage, Hyperpigmentation, Stretch marks, Acne scars, Large pores, Melasma, Sagging skin, and Uneven skin texture and tone.
It is generally considered safe for most people who are in good health, but it may not be safe for people who use certain acne medications, have active acne, or have moderate to severe psoriasis or eczema. Minor redness and irritation for a few days after the procedure is common, but more serious side effects are rare. These can include infection, allergic reaction, rashes, pigmentation changes, and reactivation of herpes cold sores. If you experience any of these side effects, you should contact your healthcare provider.
